The automaker came out swinging with the debut of the 1967 Camaro, and the American automotive landscape would never be the same. Built upon the new F-Body platform, nearly all first-generation Camaros were produced at the Norwood, Ohio, and Van Nuys assembly plants. The Camaro was designed to house a big-block between the frame rails out of the gate, with many customers opting to slot in the 396 CI V-8.
