1969 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko Tribute

Description:

Body off frame restored as a Yenko but better! Same looks and performance with air conditioning added to stay cool.

EXTERIOR: You can't tell it from an original Yenko! It has proper emblems, stripes, cowl hood and wheels. Original sheet metal and it's clean and straight. It fits right too. It features a cowl hood and spoilers. Painted Garnet Red and is polished to a smooth high gloss finish. Yenko decals were properly installed. New vinyl top. All the chrome and trim were replaced. Those reproduction Wide Oval tires actually have radial technology and are wrapped around new 15 in Torque Thrust wheels.

INTERIOR: It's lookin good inside too! The first I noticed was the houndstooth seats. All the upholstery, carpet, door panels, headliner were replaced. The dash area is clean. It has the 140 mph speedometer along with a factory tachometer and rare center mount gas gauge. Aftermarket oil and temp gauges hang under the dash. The heater control panel is upgraded with a Vintage Air electric slide unit. There's also an upgraded retro stereo. The center console is in great shape and home to the Hurst shifter. It has a complete set of GM seatbelts. The Yenko decals are on the headrests, and it even has a set of Yenko mats.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The heart of it is Yenko, then there's a few upgrades that we like now that we're older. They started with the very desirable ""512"" casting block and used factory rectangular port heads and matched aluminum intake with a 780 Holley carb. A complete and functional cowl induction system lets the air in, and a fat set of headers lets the air out. The front of the motor was recently upgraded with a CVF billet runner system including brackets and serpentine pulleys. It also includes a polished alternator, modern power steering and a polished air conditioning compressor. Yes, this has a Vintage Air heat and a/c system. An aluminum water pump and radiator keep the motor cool. It also features power brakes. All the components are clean and proper: squirters are hooked up, it has hood insulation, Optima battery, working horns etc.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted slick. Inside is clean metal painted with a spatter finish. Reproduction weatherstrip, mat and decal. Complete with rally wheel spare and a jack.

UNDERSIDE: The front end was recently upgraded with tubular control arms, fatter swaybar and coilover adjustable gas shocks. The steering was rebuilt as well. Frame connectors tie the front and back together to prevent twisting. In back the suspension was rebuilt. The brake system was completely rebuilt, it has disc in front and a working e-brake. The exhaust is a little bit fatter with a crossover pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. Fuel system was replaced including the tank and there is an electric fuel pump. Looking up at the motor it's clean Chevy orange with a high torque starter. There's a heavy duty scatter shield attached to the Muncie 4-speed. Code BE high performance 12 bolt rear end with 4.10 posi gears. The floors are clean metal painted semi gloss black.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and adjusted the exhaust to eliminate a vibration, we reprogrammed the a/c controls, replaced a hose to the power brake booster, gave it a front end alignment and adjusted the coilovers.

This car is a real pleasure to look at but driving it is when the fun really begins. The 427 makes excessive power and you get to control it with the Hurst 4-speed and make that exhaust sing! You know it would cost more than we are asking to build this car and it's ready right now!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
