For many muscle car enthusiasts, the 1970-1972 Chevelle SS checks all the boxes. The subtly bulging fenders and hood, semi-fastback roofline and simple but handsome grille and taillights just look so right. And with a variety of potent V8s available, these Chevelles made the right sounds and responded swiftly to a right foot. Here we an incredible find -- a 1972 Chevelle SS 350 with less than 7,000 documented miles. This time capsule is the real deal as seen on the original window sticker and build sheet that go with the car. Those documents also reveal that this car was loaded with options. In addition to the SS package features (domed hood, black-accented grille, 15-inch sport wheels, power front disc brakes, sport suspension), this car has a 350 2-barrel V8, power steering, a vinyl top, tinted glass, A/C, bucket seats, console and an AM radio. The all-original body is a convincing testament to this car being pampered and barely driven for all of its 50 years. Arrow straight, the body (and underside) are rock-solid and the Cranberry Red paint gleams, as ds the chrome and stainless-steel trim. The white vinyl top looks equally as crisp, and the SS still wears its original 15-inch sport wheels, which look great wearing M Goodyear Polyglas GTs. Inside, everything from the headliner to the dash, upholstery and carpeting is original and in incredible condition. Rather than a bland, taxi-style bench seat and column shifter, this SS sports those optional Strato-bucket seats along with the center console and its space-age staple shifter. Though it dsnt have a big block (that was optional by 1972), this SSs 350 V8 has plenty of punch and sounds great with its dual exhaust providing the right soundtrack with its throaty, but not obnoxious rumble. On the road the Chevelle accelerates, handles, rides and brakes as well as youd expect of a super-low mileage car that has been properly maintained and stored ever since it rolled out of the showroom in October of 1971. Accompanying the car is a binder full of supporting documentation, including the window sticker, build sheet, sales brochure, owners manual and even the original Protect-O-Plate, sales order and new car inspection report.
