Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to offer this true "X33 Code" 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z28, finished in the much sought after Hugger Orange (72) with the Black custom (712) interior & black rally stripes. The "X" code only originated from the Norwood, OH plant and the "33" is the Style Trim Group w/ Special Performance Equipment Pkg. that signified the Z28's. When the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS first hit the scene, it was immediately touted as one of the hottest muscle cars on the market. The seductive coupe quickly became a popular choice among American drivers. This 1969 Camaro RS Z28's "DZ coded" 302 CID V/8, (though not #'s matching, is a true DZ coded 302) that is mated to the legendary Muncie Rock Crusher 4-speed manual transmission and sets it apart from the rest of the lineup. While the engine's advertised output was 290 horsepower, it produced upwards of 400 horsepower in the real world. For the drivers who wanted to be noticed, very few vehicles attracted more attention than the Camaro RS Z28. Not only did the RS package include a dazzling pair of hideaway headlights, but it also featured a special grille. On the inside, high-grade vinyl seats gave the cabin an upscale character. Wood trim and unique gauges further enhanced the interior's styling. The wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and the auxiliary gauges in front of the shifter include battery voltage, coolant temperature, fuel level and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles, although true mileage is unknown. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to pick up a great piece of well-preserved history that has clearly been well loved and looked after.
