Originally bought new by the restorer's grandfather for the family business, this 1949 Ford F-1 was passed down to his son, who restored it to stock and put miles on it before it was given a full ground-up transformation by the original owner's grandson. It then became a dedicated show truck, winning F-1 of the Year at the F-100 Super Nationals, securing a Top 25 finish, and earning a feature in Classic Trucks Magazine soon after that. Despite its time in the spotlight, it has been driven less than 10,000 miles since restoration, and its condition still looks fresh today.
The body remains stock, finished in Sherwin-Williams Meadow Green by Moonlight Body Shop in Irvine, KY. The bed floor, crafted by Dan Carpenter, features stainless steel trim and oak planks, giving it a classy appearance. It rides on 15" Halibrand alloy wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich radial tires for modern grip.
Under the hood sits a high-performance Ford 289ci V8, outfitted with a Carter 4-barrel carb, Edelbrock intake, Accel plug wires, billet pulleys, finned valve covers, and chrome dress-up components. A polished aluminum radiator keeps temps in check, while a custom stainless steel exhaust gives the truck a deep, throaty sound. Power is sent through a C6 3-speed automatic with a B&M shift kit to a Ford 9-inch rear end, ensuring durability and smooth shifts. The truck retains its straight axle front end with monoleaf springs, keeping the classic hot rod feel, while power front disc brakes and rear drums provide reliable stopping power.
The custom, bone leather bucket seat interior is built for comfort and style. A custom center console stack, Lokar shifter, ididit tilting column, and LeCarra steering wheel blend vintage and modern design. Auto Meter gauges, power windows, modern A/C, power steering, and a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo round out the upgrades, making it a truck you can actually enjoy on the road.
With its long family history, high-quality build, and show-winning pedigree, this F-1 is more than just a vintage truck-it's a carefully preserved piece of history with the performance and style to back it up. Now in the hands of only its second family, it's a chance to own a truly special classic.
