Introduced in Spring of 1949, this Detroit built ""Second Series"" DeSoto Custom Sedan was found slumbering in this World War II Era Airplane Hangar. The tags have been kept current through 2022, but it's probably been that long since it's seen the road. The 237/109hp Chrysler flathead Straight 6, backed by a 3-speed Gyro Fluid Drive transmission. The odometer shows just a touch over 70,000 miles. The interior appears original but worn. According to the trim tag reads paint code 370 denotes two-tone Briar Brown Metallic over Desert Tan with brown and tan interior. The exterior sheet metal appears to be solid, with no discernable rust. The car is currently finished a monochromatic in Briar Brown Metallic. Evidence of its original two-tone color scheme is revealed in the lower door jambs, engine bay, inner fender aprons. The tires appear to be in like new condition, still showing the protective bluing over the white walls. The glass, trim, and chrome all appear to be very good condition, with no significant blemishes or dings.
