1932 Ford 3 Window Coupe
Cheer, cheer for Old Notre Dame
Wake up the echoes cheering her name
Send a volley cheer on high
Shake down the thunder from the sky!
What though the odds be great or small
Old Notre Dame will win over all
While her loyal sons are marching
Onward to victory!
..and the band plays on!
For consignment, a golden oldie if you will in the form of a 1932 Ford coupe or deuce coupe as they are commonly known as and this one is a fiberglass repro bathed in Notre Dame Gold and with blue fenders. It's been chopped and has wide whites all around and wonderful loud pipes emanating from an open sided engine bay. A freshly gone over transmission, new alternator, new rear coil overs, new headers, mufflers and exhaust, a new relay and breaker for the electric fan and all wrapped up in a non verifiable 3,502 mile package. Throw in some chrome steel wheels for nostalgia's sake and a custom interior and I can hear the crowd roar as we drive onto the show grounds.
Note: This vehicle is sold with a Pennsylvania reconstructed branding on the title
Exterior
All fabulous rust free ding free low maintenance fiberglass bathed in metallic gold from head to toe. It sports some contrasting blue fenders on the back, but the fronts remain open to the air. Same with the side cowls open to reveal the glorious 350 cubes under the hood. A single headlight hangs from either side of the radiator which is a beautiful stainless mesh pattern with a gold surround. Bumpers have been shaved and this deuce is ready to rock and roll with less weight and like new rubber all around in wide white form and mirror polished chrome steel wheels so you can comb your DA after a new coating of grease. Beautifully done!
Interior
A swing of the suicide door and we are in stitched blue leather heaven. Door panels have a simple but effective stitched panel on them and sport power window and lock toggles. More but leather for the late model buckets also stitched with white thread. Up front a simple blue textured vinyl dash houses black faced gauges all huddled in the center of the dash. A center down panel has an AM/FM/CD player and some cup holders. On the floor is a Lokar shifter, and fronting the dash is a tilt rally steering column and wheel. Clean blue carpeting floods the floors and above is a tight stitched blue headliner.
Drivetrain
Open for all the world to see. We can peer at the 350ci V8 which is highly polished right down to the headers. It is topped with a single Holley 4-barrel carb and has a freshly gone through TH350 3-speed automatic tranny on back with a Ford 9-inch rear axle to turn the rear tires.
Undercarriage
Transverse leaf springs up front and a 4 link with new coil overs on back provides the ride, and to stop this rod offers up disc brakes on the front and drums on back. New coated headers are on for the big exhale and work together with new piping and new stainless mufflers to let the world know you have arrived.
Drive-Ability
I slipped in and she fired right up and has enough power to beat the band. The new pipes belt out a melodious engine roar, and I can feel the vibration of the horses under my seat not unlike a bass drum beat. Stopping power is well within the limits, and handling was very good. March On! A fiberglass gold nugget, with some odes to Ole' Notre Dame colors, or it could just be a gold and blue rod! Leather interior, and a slew of new parts, she's my little deuce coupe and you don't know what she's got...although now you do so get on in and score a ride!
