1970 Pontiac GTO Judge

Description:

1970 Pontiac GTO Judge

The Consignor purchased this car in 1995 as a completely disassembled project, the engine however was already completely rebuilt to stock specs and reassembled. In 2001, the Consignor started a frame off restoration to bring this car back to its former glory. Around 2003 the car was painted and back on the frame but then it was parked in a corner of my garage for the next 15 years. The car was reassembled and completed over the winter of 2021-22. The underside and suspension of the car was finished in 60% gloss black urethane paint. This 1970 GTO JUDGE has been documented by Pontiac Historical Services as an authentic JUDGE code WT1. A copy of the dealer invoice is included with the car. It was built in July of 1970 and shipped to Stephen Pontiac - Cadillac in Bristol CT. It has its code WS, RAM AIR IlI engine rated at 366 HP. The partial vin stamped on the block matches body vin tag. This car is an original 4 speed car with a Muncie M20 Transmission with its factory Hurst 4 speed shifter. The rear axel is a non original 12 bolt positraction 331:1 rear end. The rear deck lid spoiler is part of the Judge package as is the front lower chin spoiler.

All 1970 Judges with the Ram Air III engine have functional hood scoops which are opened with a pull knob under the dash. The Rochester Quadrajet is the correct carburetor for the car. The Special Ram Air exhaust manifolds with 2 1/4"" exhaust pipes are standard on all Judges.

The original color of this Judge was Atoll Blue which is a darker blue than what the car is now. The dark blue interior is the original interior color, as are the blue factory floor mats. The underdash mechanical gauges were added so as to not have to rely on the factory electric gauges which were sometimes inaccurate. The Hurst T Handle shifter is correct for all Judges. The Original seat belts including the shoulder belts have been restored.

In 1970 there were only 1,831 AM AIR III Judges built with a M20 4 speed Muncie transmissions. How many real Judges are left? There are many Judge Clones out there, but very few documented Judges remain.
