The 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback is an iconic American classic, known for its sporty design and powerful performance. Launched as part of the first generation of Mustangs, it features a sleek, elongated body with a distinctive fastback roofline that enhances its aerodynamics and visual appeal. Under the hood, it typically offers a variety of engine options, including the popular 289 cubic inch V8, which provides a thrilling driving experience. Inside, the Mustang combines style with comfort, showcasing a driver-focused cockpit. The 1965 Fastback has become a symbol of 1960s automotive culture, celebrated for its combination of performance, style, and accessibility, making it a favorite among car enthusiasts and collectors alike. Unfortunately we do not know a ton from this car as it was purchased by the consignor exactly how you see it. The engine is believed to be a Shelby 289 but there is no proof other than the fact it sounds and feels a little stronger than an original 65 289. It is believed to be a correct 4-speed car and the color is unknown but I believe the car to be a true black car based on what I am looking at. Nonetheless, this is a true first year Mustang Fastback that in my opinion is the best looking of the Mustangs by far. The rear seat/parcel tray gets me going every time. This car starts, stops, shifts and goes down the road as it should. This is priced accordingly for what's out there at this time.
