was originally sold to it's first owner in Maryland.
Less than 4 years and 13K miles later, the car was sold via an auction and came north to CT, to a dealership I believe where it stayed for about a year and a couple thousand miles. The next owner is recorded as purchasing in 2003 and based on service records, I feel that what is listed as owner 4 is actually still the third owner, who had the car through until 2008 and added over 30K miles (it may have been retitled in his spouses name?) over 5 years of ownership.
The current owner purchased her in 2008 with 51,000 miles on her and in the last 14 years has added about 38K miles, to a total of 89,281.
Throughout her life, the car has been well cared for as evidenced in the CarFax and receipts the current owner has. In 2023, she suffered a very minor parking lot incident where someone rubbed the right front fender and bumper cover. The car received a new bumper cover , the rub was sanded/buffed out and the fender and bumper repainted. The match was done perfectly. In 2021 the cooling system suffered a catastrophic failure that lead to the engine being damaged. It was deemed less expensive to replace the engine than rebuild the original, so one with 78K miles and a 5 year warranty was sourced from Engine and Transmission World and installed.
The paint, British Racing Green (code HGD) overall is in beautiful condition with only a couple small blemishes, as seen in the photos, much less than would normally be seen on a car with 89K miles.
The Cashmere (SDZ) leather interior is similar. There is some minor wear on the driver door armrest and some on the center console. The seat has some flex marks in the leather, but that's pretty much it.
Everything works as it should. The top operates as it should (the pump and front lines were replaced just a couple years ago), the 8 way power seats work correctly, power mirrors, heated seats, AC blows cold, power tilt wheel, stereo, cruise, remote CD changer/player, etc. all the usual Jaguar amenities.
The XK8 is powered by 4.0L V8 that moves power through a 5 speed automatic transmission. The engine produces about 300HP and lb ft of torque and is easily enough to move this 4600 lb car to 60 in just over 6 seconds.
4 wheel, ABS, disc brakes bring the car to a halt.
The car is considered a 2+2 but rear seat passengers must be severely height challenged in order to fit. The trunk on the other hand will fit 2 golf bags easily.
This is a beautiful GT car, ready to soak up the miles of wonderful country or shoreline roads with ease. If you want to get a little "spirited" with your driving and use the J gate shifter and dive into corners, she'll do that too.
Totally turn key, she needs nothing to be enjoyed.
Current asking price is $9500.
