2025 Toyota Camry Review: A stylish and fun-to-drive Camry

The 2025 Toyota Camry continues to be a mainstay in the midsize sedan market, but this year, its taken a significant step forwardespecially for those seeking a more efficient, fun-to-drive alternative to the Honda Accord Hybrid. With a hybrid-only powertrain, the 2025 Camry offers has a near perfect blend of performance, fuel efficiency, and technology, making it one of the best midsize sedans on the market. On the outside the 2025 Camry stands out thanks to its sharp, stylish exterior. While its roofline remains unchanged from the previous model, the new front and rear fascias give it a fresh, bolder look. In the past we've rarely ever said the Camry looked exciting, but this generation does provide a more exciting exterior. The previous generation Camry was available four-cylinder, hybrid and V6 powertrains. That changes with the 2025 Camry, which is now only available with a four-cylinder hybrid powertrain. Toyota has refined the hybrid system to deliver excellent fuel efficiency without compromising on performance. With the front-wheel-drive version, you'll get an excellent 53 mpg in the city, 50 mpg on the highway, and 51 mpg combined, which is higher than you'll get with the Accord Hybrid. Even with the available all-wheel drive fuel economy remains strong at 52 mpg city, 49 mpg highway, and 50 mpg combined. [ See image gallery at www.thetorquereport.com ] Under the hood, the 2025 Camry hybrid's 232 horsepower engine provides more than enough punch. The powertrain is responsive, and the car feels nimble and composed in most driving situations. Whether youre cruising on the highway or darting around city traffic, the Camry handles with precision, offering tight, controlled steering that makes it fun-to-drive. Although the new hybrid powertrain is good, we do miss the V6-powered Camry with its extra power. While the hybrids 232 horsepower is sufficient for most driving scenarios, it doesnt quite match the robust acceleration and deep growl of the now-absent V6. Additionally, when pushed hard, the hybrid powertrain can get a bit noisy. Inside, the 2025 Camry gets a much-needed upgrade in technology and design. The modernized interior features a sleek, minimalist layout with an available 12.3-inch touchscreen and a digital gauge cluster. The system is intuitive and responsive, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While the interior tech is a highlight, the materials used throughout the cabin could be more premium. Although everything feels solid, theres a noticeable difference between the high-tech displays and the more utilitarian materials on the dashboard and door panels. The Honda Accord's interior manages to feel a bit more upscale. The 2025 Toyota Camry is available in four trim levels: LE, SE, XLE and XSE. The pricing starts at $29,535. All-wheel drive is a $1,525 option. At the end of the day, the 2025 Toyota Camry remains a top contender in the hybrid sedan category. With its excellent fuel economy, fun-to-drive handling, and a stylish, tech-forward interior, the 2025 Camry is set to win over buyers. If you're in the market for a hybrid sedan that combines practicality, efficiency, and a little excitement, the 2025 Camry is definitely worth considering.
